Discussion point page number 162

1.- What effect would video recording and distribution have on the film industry?

Cinema will no longer have the same importance and the same customers as before because most of the people would prefer to see movies for free at home, so that cinemas will get less money.

.2.- How would radio and television negatively affect film and record sales? How could the development of radio and television be used to boost film and record sales?

Affect negatively if the television and radio broadcast the films and records for free or in a cheaper way to people, because the people will not be interested on the product any more. It will boost if the TV and the radio do commercials because it will get people attentions and they will buy the films or the records.

3.- How has digital technology and the increased use of the Internet affected film and sound recording? How has the Internet had an effect on distribution?

It has affected for bad because as the good and free  distribution of the internet , now there are many web sites where you can get new films and songs for free whiteout the need of paying, what it’s bad for the film and record sales. The effect of the internet was massive connection for everyone and anywhere in the world, which is good for sending a message or commercial to anyone, but bad because its very easy to distribute these products.

4.- What distinctions can we make between professional film and sound productions and personal or amateur use? What role do they both play, and are these roles interchangeable?

Obviously the professional productions have a better work because they had more experiences and they have tools, techniques of best quality that will help them to make a more specialized work than an amateur production. he role that they do is to show us the difference between a professional and an amateur and they are no interchangeable. Also with more time and experience you pass to a professional.

It’s the same idea but in different words.

People didn’t take care about the sign of the blind man

What was the people´s s reaction to the second sign?

The second sign has strongest words so people feel more affected and  feel more involved and have more compassion,

Yes, because when the blind man use the second sign attracts more the attention from people and earned more money.

4. Detail explanation of techniques

The main technique we are using in our interactive poster is the problem and benefit, and that the problem is that young people today do not carry much physical activity because they are more sedentary and prefer to stay home, so the benefit we are giving the sport is free, where anyone interested can participate in the academy as our poster says "our academy is a group open to men and women of all ages". Also we used imperative form to call the attention of people like, as it says in the poster “SIGN IN NOW!” We used the testimonial technique like when we mention Gary Gait (that is a lacrosse famous player) saying media “Join in now! And play like me!” Also we included some mass media like broadcast media, the video in the poster and the website that is www.lacrosseacademy.com that can be used to consult us.

3.-Description of advertising campaign

We provide an academy where young people can play sports, make new friends and learn about teamwork, this academy is focused in young people (between 10-18 years old) and also to people that wants to learn a new sport. One of the objectives of our academy is to bring a free service for the community. The mass media that we used for this campaign is for example: pamphlet that is print media, the glogster that we made with internet and the podcast that is broadcast media. Also in our interactive poster (glogster) we have videos, audio, images, and information about lacrosse. The steps that we followed to make our campaign were:  we made the pamphlet (March 28th), then we made an interactive poster, using a website called glogster, (April 11th), we need to do a podcast using VoiceThread for the campaign (April 18th), and the last stage is to prepare an oral presentation. (April 23rd).
