Modernism: Architecture

Modernism: Architecture

We made a short presentation where with my partners Guillermo Ahumada and Carlos Jimenez, we talk about architecture of modernism, where we said some important facts like this:

The modern movement in architecture and industrial design, which emerged in the early 20th century, responded to sweeping changes in technology and society

Reacting against historicism, the Wiener Werkstätte employed simplified shapes, geometric patterns, and minimal decoration. A great deal of attention was put on fine craftsmanship. This followed the group's motto: “Better to work ten days at one piece than to manufacture ten pieces in one day.”

Modern architecture is generally characterized by simplification of form and an absence of applied decoration. It is a term applied to an overarching movement, with its exact definition and scope varying widely.

Also i would like to say that of the most importan and most influences  city of the modernism was Vienna becauseit there takes place this important movementsand also was one of the first cities.
